Tourism in Uruguay

Uruguay has the most amazing beaches in the whole world. The weather is really nice almost all year long and if you are at Montevideo, you can enjoy the sand and the sun from every neighborhood. You can walkthrough the Fortaleza del Cerro wich is a very beautiful place, being an historical spot. Another amazing sight is El Prado neighborhood with a lot of green areas and an exquisite rose garden. On the weekends, nightlife is anything but ordinary. There’s a hot place called Fun Fun Bar wich is a tipical place of the city of Montevideo, just beside the Solis theater. You can “tango” there and also have one of the popular “Uvita” drinks. Some other cool bars and nightplaces to visit are: W Lounge, El Pony Pisador, Glam, Lotus, La City and La Ronda. You can dance, have fun or just have a few drinks with your friends in these places.

A MUST for Saturday at noon is El Mercado del Puerto (Port Market). You have to live this amazing experience. In the middle of the port of Montevideo, you can grab something to eat, have a drink and dance to the music of candombe.

On Sundays you dont want to miss the Parque Rodó fair, where you can buy good, nice and cheap brands. You can find a lot of green areas, monuments and chill areas. At the afternoon is impossible not to check the “Cuerda de tambores” (Drums Line) of Malvín neighborhood. A 4 – 5 blocks drums line where people surround the players and dance to the rythm.
