What kind of clothes do I have to take with me?
In winter you need gloves, scarf, jacket and shoes that can resist heavy rain.
In summer: shorts, sandals, fresh clothes, t-shirts.
Weather
Winter is cold, during the day it could be sometimes fresh and during the night it gets really cold.
Summer temperatures are high and intense and very dry mainly during January, February and March.
Others
Electricity in Chile is 220v so it is necessary for US and UK citizens to bring an adaptor.

Transportation:

How do I get to the Hostel from the airport?
• Transvip: they are located in the main door of the airport. $5000, 24 hours, they leave you in hostel door.
• Cetropuerto buses: located in the main door of the airport, $1700, from 6:00 am to 23:00pm. The stop at the city is located in Los Heroes Subway. From the airport is about 30 min.
• Bus terminal: if you are at the hostel, you need to go to the nearest Metro Station Line 1 (red one) and get off at Universidad de Santiago Subway.

How to get to the airport from the hostel?
Taxi: $15000, pick up at the hostels door.
Centropuerto buses: Located at Los Heroes Subway. $1700, every 10 min.
Transvip: they pick you up at the hostels door, $5000.
From the bus terminal: Universidad de Santiago Subway and your stop is Universidad de Chile Subway, walk two blocks East and turn left, 60 San Antonio.

How can I go to the 3 nearby most turistic cities?:

Viña del Mar & Valparaiso by bus: only an hour and a half from Santiago, $3000 one way ticket. The bus terminal is at Universidad de Santiago Subway.
La Serena & Coquimbo by bus: 4 -5 hours from Santiago, $10000 the ticket, bus terminal Alameda, Universidad de Santiago Subway.
La Serena & Coquimbo by plane: one hour trip, $40.000 plane ticket. Airlines: sky airlines and Lan Chile.
San Pedro de Atacama by bus: $20000 aprox depending the season. From bus terminal Alameda, 20 hours trip from Santiago.
San Pedro de Atacama by plane: $40.000 depending the season, 3 hour flight. Airlines: Lan Chile and Sky airlines.
